‘Safeguarding Young People in CoderDojo’ is a free, online e-learning module available for all CoderDojo volunteers. This module will tell you about the key things regarding child safeguarding, and most importantly, it will ensure you know how to create a safe Dojo environment for your Ninjas. The module should take around 20 minutes to complete.
If you’re involved with CoderDojo, we strongly recommend that you take this e-learning module in order to better understand best practices at a Dojo. And If you’re a Dojo champion, also encourage your volunteers and mentors to complete it.
Once you’ve completed it, you will:
- Have an awareness of child safeguarding
- Know how to recruit volunteers for your Dojo
- Understand the Code of Behaviour for volunteers
- Know how to implement international best practices in child safeguarding in your Dojo
You can read a little more about how we put the module together on our blog here.
