Across Accenture’s global Corporate Citizenship programmes, there was a growing appetite for volunteering opportunities related to digital technologies. Following research into the growth of non-profit organisations focused on helping young people around the world to develop computer science skills, CoderDojo stood out as an ideal fit for volunteering across multiple Accenture locations. Specifically, having a successful Dojo in the Accenture office in Dublin, Ireland, was a critical factor in Accenture’s process of choosing CoderDojo as a CSR initiative.
The Growth Partnership encompassed the development of toolkits, materials, and a roll-out plan for piloting Dojos across Accenture Innovation Centres. Additionally, both the CoderDojo Foundation and Accenture collated best practices and lessons learned while running Dojos, and identified collaborative opportunities with existing non-profit partners. Moreover, the Foundation and Accenture each allocated a project lead to work collaboratively on the initiative.
