In order to join a Dojo and sign up children for upcoming events, parents/guardians must register an account on the CoderDojo community platform Zen. You can also use your account to see your child’s achievements, e.g. digital badges your child has been awarded for learning new skills.
If you are looking for a Dojo for your child to attend, head to this page.
How to register an account
Once you have found a local Dojo that suits you, you can click the 'Join' button on the Dojo's page. You will then be prompted to register an account on our community platform Zen. You can also register in advance and then log in to join a Dojo. When registering, you will be required to enter information such as your name, email address, date of birth, and country. This information will only be visible to the Dojo champion and to team members at the Coderdojo Foundation, and will not be shown anywhere publicly.
Adding a child to your account
When you first fill in your profile, you can add a child to your account by clicking the blue button at the bottom of your profile page.
When you have completed your profile, you can select the ‘My Children’ option from the drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner of the page to add children.
When you join a Dojo as a parent or guardian, any young people associated with your account will automatically become members of that Dojo. You will still need to sign them up to any Dojo sessions they wish to attend, so that the Dojo’s organisers know how many young people to expect at each of their events.
