In order to join a Dojo and sign up children for upcoming events, parents/guardians must register an account on the CoderDojo community platform Zen. You can also use your account to see your child’s achievements, e.g. digital badges your child has been awarded for learning new skills.
If you are looking for a Dojo for your child to attend, head to this page.
How to register an account
Once you have found a local Dojo that suits you, if they have an event just click "Book Tickets" or in case they don't have an event up right now you can click the 'Join' button on the Dojo's page. You will then be prompted to register an account or to log in. When registering, you will be required to enter information such as your name, email address, date of birth, and country. This information will only be visible to the Dojo champion and to team members at the CoderDojo Foundation, and will not be shown anywhere publicly.
Adding a child to your account
If you are booking an event, adding a child is automatically handled as part of that process. So for nearly all parents, we recommend only adding a child when you are booking an event. Our community platform is for booking and being updated about events, so if you are not booking an event, there is no reason to add a child.
When you join a Dojo as a parent or guardian, any young people associated with your account will automatically become members of that Dojo. You will still need to sign them up to any Dojo events they wish to attend, so that the Dojo’s organisers know how many young people to expect at each of their events.
Adding a child to your account and not booking an event
Note: Adding a child this way is no longer recommended. Guardians should now just add children when they are booking tickets.
You can add a child to your account by clicking the blue button at the bottom of your profile page.
