CoderDojo Western Australia was founded by the Fogarty Foundation, an established non-profit charity in Western Australia. The Fogarty Foundation invests in education to change and enrich lives and to provide opportunities for individuals to realise their potential. When they discovered CoderDojo, they soon realised it was a perfect movement to help them achieve their goals, and they started to set up their first-ever Dojo in Perth
The Foundation applies entrepreneurial and business principles to all of its activities and programs across the broad spectrum of the community, from working with educators in deprived socioeconomic areas through to developing the capacity of those who will be leaders in its state. Since the first Dojo was set up in Perth, the number of Dojos in Western Australia has grown to more than 150, and CoderDojo has become one of its most successful community programmes.
